Still motivated by success with the inner
wings I started on the driver's floor pan and sill. The
first thing was to remove the flat sheet of steel which
had been welded over the original floor pan. This proved
easier than expected owing to rough welding and for some
reason ease of cutting the sheet with an angle grinder.
Underneath it was not good news.
Unfortunately the original floor was totally
rotten. So I spent the rest of the day carefully removing
it. And this is what I finished up with. As you can see
the chassis rails are exposed and mint - the same as the
other side. Nice.
I also made up a new panel using a new floor
pan and part of a new inner sill to drop into the hole I
have created.
